This hike started from the Pilot Knob trailhead, the longer steeper way to get to the top. I’ve been to Buck Mountain many times, and the views from the top are amazing. Early on there are a couple of stream crossings, which can be dicey at times. The last time I was here, water was raging. Not so much on this weekend.
The views from the top were great, the weather was just right.
Coming down was a piece of cake.
This parking lot can get busy at times, be sure to get there earlyish on a Saturday, as lots of tourists know of this hike.
